Two men have been injured, one critically, in a shooting in a Leaside park on Tuesday evening, police say.
Officers were called to a park in the area of Vanderhoof Avenue and Research Road, near Eglinton Avenue East and Laird Drive, at about 7:30 p.m.
Callers reported hearing several gunshots in the area, people screaming and vehicles leaving, said Const. Alex Li, spokesperson for the Toronto Police Service.
When police arrived, they found the two men with gunshot wounds.
According to Toronto paramedics, one man was in life-threatening condition and was taken to a trauma centre, while the other suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
No suspect information has been released.
